tax return preparation: what is difference between total ordinary dividends and qualified dividends?
my statement showing dividend income, shows a total X.
Then on the 1099, the same amount X is shown as "ordinary" dividends and another number, Y is shown as qualified dividends.

now instead of getting ,494 i only get 6 ,an i had to pay my preparer a percentage of the return i thought i was getting back as the fee for my tax preparation is there any recourse ?
