IRS- Voluntary Compliance

During a recent IRS budget meeting, Rep. Becerra comments on the income tax as being voluntary. Carefully listen for what he states after he indicates this tax is voluntary.

    “It is now settled that corporations are persons within the meaning of the constitutional provisions forbidding the deprivation of property without due process of law…” Covington & Lexington Turnpike Road Co. v. Sandford, 164 US 578

    This case in no way diminished the fact that an individual is also a ‘person’ as used in the 14th Amendment.

    How can something be both “voluntary”, and an “obligation”? Also, “Compliance” does not fit in-between those 2 words. If I have the choice to voluntarily do something, where is my obligation to comply? Oh, I get it…the obligation is enforced through unlawful punishments and seizures via this non-governmental collection agency. This is “intimidation”, “stress and duress”, “coercion”, and “extortion”. Anything but voluntary.

    “To the extent that income taxes are said to be “voluntary,” however, they are only voluntary in that one files the returns and pays the taxes without the IRS first telling each individual the amount due and then forcing payment of that amount. The payment of income taxes is not optional, however, see, e.g.,
    Wilcox v. Commissioner, 848 F.2d 1007, 1008 (9th Cir. 1988);” Newman v. Schiff

    @RetSquid voluntary extortion. what choice or influence did the american people have in choosing to have their currency not backed by gold? What were the differences in votes between those that were for it, and those that were against? Did the public even get to vote on this matter? From research and record, this Federal Reserve act happened over night with very littly public over-sight. Seems to me the only solutions is to refuse FRN’s.

  5. RetSquid says:

    @NSLBC

    1)It’s not voluntary. 2)Americans vote for representatives who vote for the laws. 3)That is the first time I’ve ever seen anyone refer to months long debates as ‘over night’. 4)You can refuse to use FRNs, good luck in finding something else.

  6. NSLBC says:

    @RetSquid Google “The Federal Reserve Act of 1913 slipped through Congress during Christmas recess”. This was “over-night”, in the same context that the “Federal Reserve” is “Federal”.

  7. RetSquid says:

    @NSLBC

    Slipped throught? The debate lasted MONTHS, there was a quorum there when it was voted on, so it was not “sneaked”.

  8. NSLBC says:

    @RetSquid Sure your youtube account has more credibility than the tons of evidence available in the public forum that concludes the very opposite. I “believe” you. I really do.

  9. RetSquid says:

    @NSLBC

    How about you post some of those ‘tons’ of evidence? My account is not evidence either way.

  10. NSLBC says:

    @RetSquid how about you do your own research? the point was, why believe a random youtuber over easily accessible evidence in the public forum?

  11. RetSquid says:

    @NSLBC

    I DO do my own research, which is why I wonder why idiots believe the people who post videos like this and say that “there is no law” for income tax. It’s SOOO easy to prove them wrong!!

    If you like I can point you to some good starting points for research?

  12. NSLBC says:

    Hey @RetSquid, hypothetically speaking….if a law exists, does that make it lawful?

  13. RetSquid says:

    @NSLBC

    By definition, a law makes somethng lawful.

    Lawful: conformable to or allowed by law.–Princeton.edu

  14. NSLBC says:

    @RetSquid By “Legal” definition…
    “The term lawful more clearly suggests an ethical content than does the word legal. The latter merely denotes compliance with technical or formal rules, whereas the former usually signifies a moral substance or ethical permissibility.”
    West’s Encyclopedia of American Law

  15. NSLBC says:

    @RetSquid humanity was lawful before it was legal. Get it? in other words just because something is a “law” does not make it “lawful” because lawful is based on “naturally” inspired ethics.

  16. RetSquid says:

    @NSLBC

    “A lawful act is authorized, sanctioned, or not forbidden by law.”

    West’s Encyclopedia of American Law

  17. NSLBC says:

    @RetSquid “not forbidden by law” meaning it is not constrained by law but controls the law itself.

  18. NSLBC says:

    @RetSquid laws are supposed to reflect “lawfulness”.

  19. NSLBC says:

    @RetSquid Since you love the unlawful “laws” that were made to benefit the private organization called “The Federal Reserve” so much, why don’t you read what Woodrow Wilson had to say…. Ref: The New Freedom: A Call For The Emancipation Of The Generous Energies Of A People (1913) By . Woodrow Wilson

  20. NSLBC says:

    @RetSquid you just stuck your foot in your mouth by quoting that lawful is not forbidden by laws.

  21. RetSquid says:

    @NSLBC

    That statement makes no sense. A lawful act controls the law?

  22. RetSquid says:

    @NSLBC

    Now what laws are you talking about that “benefit the Fed”?

    Any particular part of that book that relates to this subject?

  23. RetSquid says:

    @NSLBC

    Hey, moron, that quote is from the SAME definition that YOU used. LOL!!!

  24. NSLBC says:

    @RetSquid @RetSquid NO SHIT Sherlock! I didnt find it necessary to quote that part since I wanted to make you aware of what makes a law, lawful, which is ethics. Ethics creates Lawfulness, and Lawfulness is “supposed” to create Laws. Unfortunately, the laws we have been compelled to agree to are not lawful. I’ve come to the conclusion that you are an immature agent of misinformation that is not sincerely concerned with clarity on this subject. Please do not reply anymore. Thanks!

  25. RetSquid says:

    @NSLBC

    So how could I possible ‘put my foot in my mouth’ by posting the definition that agrees with my previous statement?????

    Please stop posting your crap.
